Privacy policy
Whenua Honey Ltd ("Whenua Honey", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information when you visit whenuahoney.co.nz, buy from us, book a session, or contact us. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, for any health information, the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.
What we collect
• Contact and order details: your name, email, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, and what you buy or book.
• Payment details: payments are processed by our payment providers. We do not see or store your full card number.
• Session information: if you book a rongoā, spa or healing session, any health information you choose to share with us so we can care for you safely.
• Website information: your device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed and how you arrived at our site, collected through cookies and similar tools.
• Messages: anything you send us by email, phone, social media or our website chat.
How we use it
• To process, ship and support your orders and bookings, including returns and refunds.
• To contact you about your order or booking.
• To send you news and offers, only if you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.
• To understand how our website is used and improve it, and to show relevant advertising on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google and TikTok.
• To prevent fraud, and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We only share what is needed with trusted providers who help us run Whenua Honey, including Shopify (our online store), our payment providers, Starshipit and NZ Post or other couriers (to deliver your order), our accountants, and analytics and advertising platforms such as Google, Meta and TikTok. We may also share information where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.
Information stored or shared overseas
Some of our providers, including Shopify, store information on servers outside New Zealand, for example in Canada, the United States or Australia. We use reputable providers that protect personal information in ways comparable to New Zealand law.
Health information
Health information you share for a session is used only to provide your care and keep you safe. We keep it confidential and do not use it for marketing.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep our store working (for example, your cart) and, where you agree, for analytics and advertising. You can manage cookie preferences through our cookie banner or your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, tax records are kept for 7 years).
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email laney@whenuahoney.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please talk to us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Children
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
